It is owned by a consortium of SpareBank1 Banks. The bank has its headquarters in Trondheim, and an additional office in Oslo.

In 2009 we were pioneers when we provided our customers with a self service solution for establishing a customer relationship online within minutes, using their BankID. It didn't take long before the rest of Norway's banking industry followed our lead.
With customers wanting to do more with their mobile than texting and calling, we launched Norway's first payment method for mobile, mCASH, in March 2014.
In 2015 we were among the first to use AI in assessing loan applications.
Our goal is to keep pioneering and to ensure that our customers are satisfied with what they are getting from us.
